Last Meeting ( Feb 16, 2019 ) NC-Greensboro 50, Wofford 80

Top-seeded Wofford tries for its school-record 29th victory while extending the nation's second-longest winning streak to 20 games when it meets No. 2 seed UNC Greensboro on Monday in the Southern Conference tournament final in Asheville, N.C. The No. 22 Terriers will try for their first Southern tournament title since winning two straight from 2014-15 after ousting fourth-seeded East Tennessee State 81-72 on Sunday.

Wofford senior guard Fletcher Magee, the Southern Conference Player of the Year, scored 26 points Sunday and was 10-for-14 from the field -- 6-for-7 from 3-point range. "That's the main goal when you come here is to win the league and go to the NCAA tournament," Magee told reporters. "We've lost in the semifinals twice in a row, so to finally get to be on that stage, I'm really excited." The Spartans rallied for a 66-62 victory over third-seeded Furman on Sunday behind a game-high 19 points from senior guard Francis Alonso. The Terriers won both meetings against UNCG this season by a combined 59 points with Magee scoring a total 49, snapping a five-game losing streak in the series that included a 56-55 setback in the 2018 Southern tournament.

TV: 7 p.m. ET, ESPN

ABOUT UNCG (28-5): Alonso, who scored a season-high 31 in Saturday's 77-70 victory over Samford, paces the club in scoring at 17 points per game. Junior forward James Dickey (7.9 points, team-best 8.2 rebounds) matched a season high with 15 boards Sunday and also leads the team in blocks with 56 in 27 games. Freshman guard Kaleb Hunter (5.9 points) contributed 10 off the bench against Furman on 4-for-6 shooting from the field while making both 3-point attempts.

ABOUT WOFFORD (28-4): Senior forward Cameron Jackson (14.6 points, team-high 7.5 rebounds), who forms a potent inside-outside duo with Magee (club-most 20.5 points), recorded 20 points and seven rebounds against East Tennessee State as the pair was a combined 19-for-26 from the field. "I just try and go out there and do whatever I can to help the team win," Jackson told reporters. "Coach drew up some plays for me to get the ball in good areas, and I took advantage of them (Sunday)." Junior guard Nathan Hoover (13.1 points) scored 10 on Sunday after registering 17 in Saturday's 99-72 victory over Virginia Military Institute.

TIP-INS

1. The Terriers, who went 28-7 in 2014-15 before losing in their NCAA Tournament opener to Arkansas 56-53, are 4-0 in Southern finals.

2. Magee needs seven 3-pointers to pass Oakland's Travis Bader, who made 504 from 2010-14, for the most in NCAA history.

3. Wofford was 7-for-18 from the free-throw line Sunday, falling below 70 percent (69.1) for the season.
