Last Meeting ( May 30, 2019 ) Montreal 20, Toronto 45

The Montreal Alouettes hope to build on one of their most memorable wins in recent memory when they face the Toronto Argonauts in the Atlantic Touchdown series in Moncton, New Brunswick, on Sunday. The Alouettes scored 11 points in the final minute of regulation en route to a 40-34 double-overtime win against the Calgary Stampeders and hope to stay on track for their first playoff berth since 2014 by knocking off the Argonauts for third time in their last four meetings.

"We're a different Montreal team than you've seen in the last couple of years," Alouettes wide receiver Eugene Lewis told reporters. "We have a lot of confidence and trust in each other with the swagger we've got." Toronto missed an opportunity to post back-to-back wins for the first time in more than a year following a 41-26 home loss to the Edmonton Eskimos in Week 10. The Argonauts moved the ball well against the Eskimos, but had to settle for field goals instead of touchdowns, and hope to make a playoff push with their next three games coming against East Division rivals. "We have to look at how we can play at a high level on all three sides of the ball and learn how to win games," Toronto coach Corey Chamblin told reporters. "There's no consolation that we're about to go up against the East."

ABOUT THE ALOUETTES (4-4): Vernon Adams Jr. was named one of the CFL's Top Performers of the Week after throwing for a career-high 389 yards with a pair of touchdowns to go along with two rushing scores to lead Montreal to its first victory in Calgary since 2009. Starting safety Taylor Loffler will be sidelined for the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury against the Stampeders while running back William Stanback, who leads the team in rushing yards (592), is expected to return following a two-game absence with a heel problem. Montreal signed running back Shaq Murray-Lawrence, who appeared in five games with the BC Lions in 2017, to the practice squad and released linebacker Cauchy Muamba.

ABOUT THE ARGONAUTS (1-7): McLeod Bethel-Thompson, who threw for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns against Edmonton, is set to get the start with Zach Collaros still recovering from a concussion he sustained in the opening week of the season while with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Running back James Wilder Jr. returned to practice after he was a healthy scratch against the Eskimos while defensive end Davon Coleman, who was acquired in a trade with the BC Lions on Aug. 12, is ready to make his Toronto debut. Defensive back Kevin Fogg could return to the fold after missing the previous three games with an undisclosed injury.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Adams has six rushing touchdowns in his last four starts.

2. Toronto has failed to score a first-quarter touchdown in 10 straight games.

3. The Argonauts have dropped 16 of their last 18 games.
