The Calgary Stampeders look to bounce back from a rare loss when they make the short trip to Edmonton to face the Eskimos in the Battle of Alberta on Saturday. The Stampeders suffered a 30-7 setback to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, but still clinched their second straight West Division title after the Winnipeg Blue Bombers lost in Week 18, and hope to avoid back-to-back defeats for the first time since July 2012 by downing the Eskimos for the fifth straight time.

"It's the way things work in the CFL and all pro sports as sometimes you have a stinker," Calgary coach Dave Dickenson told reporters. "I've been around them lots and didn't see it coming." Edmonton has rediscovered its mojo at the most opportune time by notching its third straight win after dropping its previous six contests. The Eskimos rallied from a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit en route to a 35-29 overtime victory against the BC Lions to move within two points of second-place Winnipeg in the West Division and can still host a playoff game if they win out and the Blue Bombers drop their final two games of the regular season. "This year we certainly haven't been blowing teams out as it's been tight down to the wire," Edmonton quarterback Mike Reilly told reporters. "I do think the road we have taken has helped build this team for the playoffs."

TV: 7 p.m. ET, TSN

ABOUT THE STAMPEDERS (13-2-1): Bo Levi Mitchell was limited to 136 yards on 14-of-27 passing with two interceptions and finished without a touchdown toss for the second time is as many games against Saskatchewan this season. Wide receiver Marken Michel, who has caught 41 passes for 780 yards and three touchdowns in his rookie campaign, pulled his hamstring against the Roughriders and is in danger of missing the rest of the regular season. Linebacker Alex Singleton registered seven tackles to set a record for most tackles in a season by a Canadian, surpassing Kevin Eiben's tally of 113 in 2005.

ABOUT THE ESKIMOS (10-6): Mike Reilly completed 31-of-41 passes for 397 yards and a pair touchdowns against BC to become the sixth quarterback in CFL history to throw for over 5,000 yards in back-to-back seasons. C.J. Gable, who has rushed for 215 yards to go along with three total touchdowns since being acquired in a trade with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Oct. 2, is expected to return to the lineup after missing a game with a muscle strain. Adarius Bowman woke from his slumber as he hauled in nine passes for 136 yards and a touchdown after averaging 28 receiving yards over his previous five games.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Calgary is 6-1-1 on the road this season.

2. Singleton is second in the CFL with 115 tackles.

3. Reilly needs 411 yards to set a franchise record for most passing yards in a single season.

PREDICTION: Stampeders 23, Eskimos 21
