Treylon Burks celebrated his return to the lineup with a leaping touchdown catch in the fourth quarter as Arkansas held on for a 33-21 victory over Ole Miss on a windy afternoon Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark.
The Razorbacks (2-2, 2-2 Southeastern Conference) recorded six interceptions off Ole Miss quarterback Matt Carrol, with Hudson Clark accounting for three of them. Jalen Cantalon and Grant Morgan each returned their picks for a touchdown.
Burks sat out the previous week with a sore knee as the Razorbacks lost at Auburn. He had a 55-yard catch that helped set up Arkansas' first touchdown before adding a 7-yard score of his own. Burks finished with 11 catches for 137 yards.
Burks' score came after the Rebels (1-3, 1-3 SEC) had cut a 20-0 deficit to six points on touchdown catches by Elijah Moore (11 receptions for 113 yards) and Jonathan Mingo.
The Rebels responded with a 73-yard touchdown drive that featured a 47-yard, fourth-down run on a fake punt by MoMo Sanogo to make it a one-score game again. The Razorbacks clinched their win on Morgan's 23-yard interception return.
Quarterback Feleipe Franks was 21 of 34 passing for 244 yards and a touchdown, but threw an interception and lost a fumble. Corral was 20 of 38 passing for 200 yards for Ole Miss.
The Hogs were without three key defensive players, including their leading tackler Bumper Pool. In addition to the takeaways, they came up with a pair of goal-line stands at the start of each half to keep the Rebels scoreless at the time.
The Razorbacks led 20-0 lead at halftime, marking the first time since a 15-10 loss to Memphis in their 2019 season opener that Ole Miss was held scoreless in the first half.
