Mac Jones threw for 435 yards and four touchdowns as No. 2 Alabama continued its recent domination of No. 13 Texas A&M with a 52-24 Southeastern Conference victory on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
In upping their record to 2-0 overall and in the conference, the Crimson Tide rolled up 544 yards and only punted twice to record their eighth straight win over the Aggies (1-1, 1-1). Alabama coach Nick Saban improved to 20-0 against his former assistants, and 4-0 against A&M coach Jimbo Fisher.
Texas A&M's Kellen Mond completed 25 of 44 passes for 318 yards with three scores and an interception, which was returned 47 yards for a second-quarter touchdown by Daniel Wright.
That was part of a 21-point outburst in the final 9:07 before halftime that effectively decided the game.
The Aggies wiped out an early 14-0 deficit, tying the score when Mond exploited a busted coverage for a 17-yard scoring strike to Ryan Renick 16 seconds into the second quarter.
But the Tide took control shortly thereafter.
Najee Harris plowed in from the 2 for a 21-14 lead, followed less than three minutes later by Wright's touchdown. Jones guided a 64-yard drive in the last 90 seconds of the half, capping it with a 2-yard strike to DaVonta Smith for a 35-14 halftime cushion.
After Seth Small's 29-yard field goal early in the third quarter pulled A&M within 35-17, Alabama ended the game's competitive phase. Jones found Jaylen Waddle for an 87-yard touchdown pass at the 7:24 mark to up the advantage to four scores.
Jones ended his day in style by flinging a 63-yard scoring strike to John Metchie with 5:33 left in the game. He and Metchie opened the scoring just 5:41 into the game with a beautiful 78-yard connection down the right sideline.
Metchie finished with 181 yards on just five catches, while Waddle compiled 142 yards on five grabs.
