Arizona Wildcats vs Washington Huskies Match Player Stats On Nov 21, 2020

Washington's Dylan Morris passed for 230 yards, and the Huskies' defense dominated through three quarters in a 44-27 victory over Arizona on Saturday night in Seattle.

Washington (2-0, 2-0 Pac-12) led 17-0 after about 12 minutes and pushed the advantage to 37-0 in the third quarter. The Wildcats (0-2, 0-2) answered with four touchdowns in the final period after the outcome had been determined.

Arizona set a school record with its ninth consecutive loss. Only one of those defeats -- last weekend's 34-30 loss to Southern California -- was by single digits.

Morris completed 15 of 25 passes with two touchdowns, including a 20-yarder to tight end Cade Otton that gave Washington its 37-point lead with 5:02 to go in the third quarter. Jacob Sirmon played the final quarter at quarterback for Washington.

The Wildcats scraped together just 66 yards through three quarters and didn't get past the Washington 46-yard line until the fourth quarter, when they managed three touchdown passes from Grant Gunnell and a 3-yard scoring run from Michael Wiley.

Gunnell was 27 of 39 for 259 yards and no interceptions, directing Arizona to 265 yards in the fourth quarter. Washington sacked him five times.

Otton caught seven passes for 100 yards for the Huskies. Richard Newton led the ground game with eight carries for 81 yards, including a 54-yard touchdown sprint in the fourth quarter.

Washington was in control from the opening possession, aided by converting a fourth-and-1 from its 31 on a fake punt on the fourth snap of the game. Three plays later, receiver Puka Nacua turned a short crossing pattern into a 65-yard catch-and-run touchdown.

The Huskies settled for a 20-yard field goal on their next drive after having first-and-goal from the 1, but their offense was quickly back in business when linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio stripped Gunnell of the ball on a sack.

Washington recovered at the Arizona 9, punching into the end zone on Sean McGrew's 1-yard run for a 17-0 lead with 2:48 to go in the first quarter.

The Huskies went up 24-0 with 8:49 left in the half when Newton scored on a 2-yard run.
