Freshman Jonathan Taylor rushed for 249 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries, including the game-clinching score in the fourth quarter, on Saturday night as No. 9 Wisconsin remained unbeaten with a 38-17 Big Ten win over Nebraska at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Neb.
Taylor bulled 2 yards up the middle, carrying a tackler just over the goal line's plane, with 9:08 remaining to give the Badgers (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) a two-touchdown lead.
Bradrick Shaw tacked on a 1-yard plunge with 2:40 left as Wisconsin spoiled the 20-year anniversary of the Cornhuskers' 13-0 national championship team of 1997.
Nebraska (3-3, 2-1) tied the game at 17 with 10:43 left in the third quarter when Aaron Williams intercepted an Alex Hornibrook pass and returned it 15 yards for a touchdown.
But Hornibrook capped a 93-yard, 11-play drive with a 5-yard scoring strike to Quintez Cephus with 4:56 left in the period, giving the Badgers the lead for good.
Hornibrook completed 9 of 17 passes for 113 yards. Cornhuskers quarterback Tanner Lee hit on 18 of 34 passes for 271 yards with a touchdown.
Nebraska appeared on the verge of a quick score to start the game, but Wisconsin instead grabbed the early lead. Chris Orr intercepted a Lee pass that caromed off running back Devine Ozigbo and chugged 78 yards down the left sideline for a 7-0 lead 2:26 into the game.
The Badgers made it 10-0 with 3:31 remaining in the quarter on Rafael Gaglianone's 37-yard field goal, but their offense bogged down after that, hampered by the Cornhuskers' rush line and inopportune penalties.
Nebraska finally got on the board when Lee hit Stanley Morgan Jr. on a crossing route from its 20. Morgan caught it at the 45 and covered the other 55 yards with the help of a great downfield block. That cut the lead to 10-7 with 1:20 left in the half.
Wisconsin needed only 11 seconds to quell the momentum. Taylor took a simple off-tackle play 75 yards down the right side to restore a 10-point advantage.
The Cornhuskers managed to pull within 17-10 at the half as Drew Brown converted a 32-yard field goal as time expired.

Nebraska WR De'Mornay Pierson-El passed the 1,000-yard receiving mark in his career with a 37-yard gain on the game's second play. ... Cornhuskers QB Tanner Lee's tipped-ball interception in the first quarter was his 10th in six games, tops in FBS.
