Terrance Ganaway rushed for 246 yards and backup quarterback Nick Florence totaled three touchdowns in place of the injured Robert Griffin III to lead No. 20 Baylor to a 66-42 victory over Texas Tech on Saturday.

Ganaway had two touchdowns among his 42 carries as the Bears (8-3, 5-3 Big 12) snapped a 15-game losing streak against the Red Raiders, and beat them for the first time as a member of the Big 12 Conference.

Texas Tech (5-7, 2-7) closed its season on a five-game skid and won't receive a bowl bid for the first time in 18 years.

Griffin went down with a head injury late in the first half when he scrambled toward the right sideline and slid for a first down, but Red Raiders linebacker Cornelius Douglas hit him, bouncing his head on the turf.

Griffin, a strong Heisman Trophy candidate, was forced to sit out one play, but he came back and scored on a 3-yard touchdown scamper to give Baylor a 31-21 lead.

Everything appeared all right going into halftime with the Bears up 31-28, but the Baylor coaches and medical staff played it safe, instead electing to sit Griffin and burn Florence’s redshirt.

Florence threw two deep touchdowns to Kendall Wright and Terrance Williams to extend Baylor’s lead and later scored on a 1-yard plunge that gave Baylor a 59-42 advantage with 9:33 left in the game.

Seth Doege completed 41-of-55 passes for 343 yards for Texas Tech, which lost all its games after upsetting Oklahoma on Oct. 22. Sixteen of those completions went to Eric Ward, who racked up 151 receiving yards and two scores.

Wright had 125 receiving yards and two touchdowns for Baylor, which closes its season at home against Texas next week.
