Collin Klein had three of his four rushing touchdowns in the first half as No. 16 Kansas State remained unbeaten by throttling Kansas 59-21 Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

Klein, a junior quarterback, also threw for a career-high 195 yards and a touchdown for the Wildcats, who improved to 7-0 for the first time since 1999. At 4-0 in Big 12 play, Kansas State will take on top-ranked Oklahoma, who is also unbeaten, next week at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

The Wildcats took a 31-14 lead at halftime and extended the advantage on the first play of the second half when Tyler Lockett returned a kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown. From there, Klein accounted for a pair of touchdowns — a 1-yard rushing score and a 19-yard passing TD to Lockett with 10:33 left in the third — to extend the lead to 52-14.

The outcome was a familiar one for the Jayhawks (2-5, 0-4 Big 12), who lost to the Wildcats for the third straight time, including last year’s 59-7 home defeat. Kansas, which came in ranked dead last in points (49) and yards allowed (565), gave up 40 or more points for the sixth straight game.

Jordan Webb completed 21-of-28 passes for 169 yards and a touchdown for the Jayhawks, who are riding a five-game losing streak and haven’t won since defeating Northern Illinois 45-42 on Sept. 10.

With the win, the Wildcats improved to 7-22 in true Big 12 road games since 2004 and won by more than seven points for the first time since defeating Kent State 37-0 on Sept. 17.

Klein finished with a team-high 92 rushing yards and Lockett had five catches for 110 yards. Both players accounted for scores in a string of six straight Kansas State touchdown drives.
