TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State quarterback Mike Bercovici passed for 315 yards and two touchdowns, and the Sun Devils had two interception returns for touchdowns in the final 3:33 for a 52-37 Pacific 12 Conference victory over Arizona at Sun Devil Stadium on Saturday.
Bercovici threw 59- and 41-yard touchdown passes and also scored on a one-yard run in the first half, when the Sun Devils (6-5, 4-4) piled up 400 of their 565 yards of total offense for a 31-10 lead.
Arizona twice got to within eight points in the second half behind backup quarterback Brandon Dawkins, who threw for 305 yards and two touchdowns after entering the game with 10 minutes left in the second quarter.
Sun Devils safety Kareem Orr returned an interception 21 yards for a touchdown with 3:33 remaining and cornerback Lloyd Carrington had a 38-yard interception return for a score with 2:30 left for a 52-30 lead as Arizona State became bowl eligible.
Dawkins scored on a 24-yard run with 32 seconds remaining.
Arizona State wide receiver Devin Lucien had nine receptions for 190 yards and a touchdown, his 59-yard score making it 14-0 in the first quarter.
Arizona wide receiver Trey Griffey scored on a 95-yard catch-and-run from Dawkins as the Wildcats (6-6, 3-6) cut the deficit to 31-23 with 46 seconds left in the third quarter.
After Arizona State wide receiver D.J. Foster scored on a one-yard run with 10:14 remaining to make it 38-23, Dawkins threw a 17-yard scoring pass to Tyrell Jackson to make it 38-30 with 6:50 remaining.
Kalen Ballage rushed for 110 yards and Demario Richard added 105 for Arizona State, which concludes its regular season at California next week.
Cornerback Cam Denson scored Arizona's first-half touchdown when he returned a pass interception 21 yards for a touchdown to make it 14-7.
Casey Skowron made 22-, 37- and 46-yard field goals for Arizona, the last cutting the score to 31-16 with 3:35 remaining in the third quarter.
