Arizona 35, Northern Arizona 0: Daniel Jenkins rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown in place of suspended running back Ka'Deem Carey as the host Wildcats trounced the Lumberjacks.
B.J. Denker threw for one score and rushed for another in his second career start for Arizona. Jenkins also made an impact in the passing game with an 11-yard touchdown catch.
Kyren Poe, making his first career start for the Lumberjacks, was 11-of-12 passing in the first half before three second-half interceptions derailed his hot night. Zach Bauman needed 119 yards to become Northern Arizona's all-time leader in career rushing yards, but was held to 71.
Arizona struck quickly as Denker connected with a wide-open Jenkins on the game's opening drive. Jenkins found the end zone again in the second quarter with a 91-yard run on the first play of Arizona's fifth possession and backup quarterback Javelle Allen sealed it with a 61-yard touchdown run with 4:40 left.
The Wildcats' defense capitalized on their opponent's offensive struggles as junior Tra'Mayne Bondurant collected a pair of interceptions, including one he returned 23 yards for a touchdown. Andy Wilder missed field goal attempts of 42 and 45 yards for the Lumberjacks.
