Kansas State 52, Miami 13: Collin Klein rushed for three touchdowns and passed for another as No. 20 Kansas State rolled over visiting Miami.
John Hubert rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries and Curry Sexton caught a scoring pass for the Wildcats (2-0), who converted 8 of 11 third downs and piled up 499 yards in beating the Hurricanes for the second straight season.
Klein completed 9 of 11 passes for 210 yards and rushed 22 times for another 64 yards to control the game. The senior quarterback capped the opening drive with a 1-yard touchdown burst and hammered his way in from six yards out on the next possession to get Kansas State off to a 14-0 lead they would not relinquish.
Klein’s 27-yard scoring pass to Sexton in the second quarter made it a 24-3 gap.
Miami could not get anything going against the Wildcats defense, rushing for just 19 yards before the break and settling for a pair of field goals.
Kansas State continued to pile on after the half as Klein capped a 13-play, 65-yard drive with his third rushing touchdown in the third quarter and Hubert marched in from four yards out early in the fourth.
The Wildcats pulled Klein after that drive but the Wildcats offense did not slow down. Daniel Sams made Miami pay for a fumble by rushing in from 15 yards out and added an 11-yard score five minutes later to make it 52-6 with 5:30 remaining.
