USC 35, Boston College 7: Cody Kessler passed for 237 yards and a pair of touchdowns while the Trojans defense dominated the visiting Eagles.
Kessler, who was named the starter this week after splitting reps with Max Wittek in the first two games, completed 15-of-17 passes and did not turn the ball over. Tre Madden and Justin Davis combined for 198 rushing yards and each scored on the ground for USC (2-1).
Chase Rettig was held to 83 yards on 11-of-24 passing as Boston College (2-1) suffered its first loss under new coach Steve Addazio.
Kessler found Madden for a 5-yard touchdown to cap a 14-play drive in the first quarter and needed only one play to turn it into a 14-0 lead. Marqise Lee caught a pass 15 yards down the field, broke one tackle and turned up the right sideline for an 80-yard touchdown with 8:49 left in the first half.
Madden broke for a 30-yard touchdown in the third quarter and Davis added a 17-yard scoring run with 13:30 left to help put it away. The Eagles finally got on the board with 10:40 to go when Tyler Rouse took a draw play 29 yards for a touchdown.
GAME NOTEBOOK: With two catches, Lee moved pass Keary Colbert (207) and into sole possession of third place on the Trojans’ all-time list. Next on the list is Dwayne Jarrett (216). … Boston College RB Andre Williams, who was named the ACC Player of the Week after rushing for a career-high 205 yards last week, was held to 38 yards on 17 carries. … Wittek got into the game in the fourth quarter and guided an 11-play touchdown drive, carrying it the last 2 yards himself for a rushing score.
