No. 6 Florida State 52, Wake Forest 0: Chris Thompson rushed for 197 yards and two long touchdown runs to spark the host Seminoles in his first extensive action since suffering a broken back at Wake Forest 11 months ago.
Thompson had only nine carries but broke off second-quarter scoring runs of 74 and 80 yards as Florida State (3-0, 1-0 ACC) avenged a 35-30 loss to the Demon Deacons in October 2011, a game in which Thompson saw his season end when he fractured two vertebrae.
Quarterback EJ Manuel ran for a touchdown and completed 15 of 24 passes for 176 yards and two scores, including a 20-yard strike to Rodney Smith in the final seconds of the first half to make it 38-0. Smith extended his consecutive receptions streak to 28 games.
Rashad Greene returned a punt 60 yards for a touchdown for Florida State, which beat Wake Forest (2-1, 1-1) for only the third time in the last seven meetings and became the first ACC team to score at least 50 points in three straight games since Virginia in 1992.
Demon Deacons quarterback Tanner Price, coming off a career-high 327 yards last week, was limited to 82 yards on 8 of 22 passing by the Seminoles, who improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2005.
