No. 15 TCU 20, Kansas 6: Casey Pachall tossed a pair of touchdown passes to Brandon Carter as visiting Texas Christian won its Big 12 debut to extend its nation-best winning streak to 10 games.
Carter reeled in eight receptions for 141 yards as he weaved his way through the Jayhawks' secondary. After his 8-yard slant gave the Horned Frogs a 7-3 lead in the first quarter, the sophomore wideout snared the ball in front of cornerback Tyree Williams before tucking it inside the pylon for a 25-yard score at 5:12 of the third.
Pachall completed 24 of 30 passes for 335 yards and Waymon James added 99 yards on the ground for TCU (2-0, 1-0 Big 12), which has yet to allow a touchdown this season. The Horned Frogs cruised to a 56-0 triumph over Grambling State in their season opener.
Texas Christian moved the ball effectively in the first half, but struggled when it entered the red zone. The Horned Frogs, who led 10-6 at halftime, saw two first-half drives end with a fumble and another go by the boards following a missed field goal.
Kansas used its ground and short-passing games to control the clock in the first quarter, but Dayne Crist struggled with his accuracy as the game went on. The Notre Dame transfer completed 19 of 39 passes for 303 yards for the Jayhawks (1-2, 0-1), who have dropped 13 consecutive conference games dating back to 2010.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Texas Christian won its 25th consecutive conference game, dating back to its days in the Mountain West. ... Kansas kicker Ron Doherty converted field goals of 37 and 22 yards, but tweaked his right groin while misfiring on a 45-yard attempt early in the second quarter. ... The Jayhawks, who forced three turnovers on Saturday, have 11 in three games. Kansas recorded just 18 turnovers last season.
