Arkansas 49, Texas Tech 28: Jonathan Williams ran for 145 yards and four touchdowns as the Razorbacks piled up 438 yards on the ground to roll over the host Red Raiders.
Alex Collins led the team with 212 yards and added two TDs and quarterback Brandon Allen scored on the ground for Arkansas (2-1), which forced three turnovers. Allen went 6-for-12 for 61 yards passing while rushing for 27 yards for the Razorbacks.
Davis Webb was 27-of-45 for 252 yards, three TDs and two interceptions for Texas Tech (2-1). Jakeem Grant caught six passes for 85 yards and a score but the Red Raiders surrendered at least 26 points for the third time in as many games.
Webb’s 15-yard TD pass to Reginald Davis just over two minutes into the contest put Texas Tech in front before Arkansas got its running game in gear. Williams made Texas Tech pay for a turnover with a 6-yard TD run to tie it and broke for a 13-yard score with 1:15 left in the opening period to give the Razorbacks their first lead.
Webb was intercepted late in the second quarter and Williams scored from 12 yards out on the next play to send Arkansas into the break with a 28-21 lead, and Allen scrambled for a 5-yard score to cap the opening drive of the third quarter. Webb found Grant for a 39-yard TD on the ensuing drive but the Razorbacks went back to the ground to get one more TD each from Williams and Collins, the last an 84-yard break.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The win was Arkansas’ first over a Power 5 school since beating Kentucky in October 2012. … The Razorbacks won the time of possession battle 40:39 to 19:21. … Webb added a rushing TD and DeAndre Washington led Texas Tech with 51 yards on the ground.
