scores and 84 yards as the Sun Devils knocked off the visiting Badgers
in a thriller that came down to the wire.

finished with 352 yards passing for Arizona State (3-0). Jaelen Strong
was a key target in the final quarter, finishing with six receptions for
104 yards and D.J. Foster added seven catches for 69 yards.
Joel Stave threw for 187 yards and the game's first
touchdown pass to Jacob Pedersen for Wisconsin (2-1). The Badgers had
just five yards rushing in the first quarter, but Melvin Gordon finished
the game with 193 and a pair of scores.
Trailing 14-3 in the second quarter, Kelly led a
10-play, 75-yard drive that was capped off by a 1-yard touchdown run by
Grice and Zane Gonzalez added a 19-yard field goal to bring the Sun
Devils within one before halftime. Arizona State dominated statistically
in the first half, outgaining Wisconsin 219-101 in total yards, but the
Badgers held their own after Beau Allen recovered a fumbled snap on a
punt attempt in the end zone that followed Stave's 2-yard touchdown
pass.
Trailing 24-19 in the fourth quarter the Sun Devils
rallied again as Grice added his third score of the night on a 2-yard
run to take the lead. The Badgers were driving into Arizona State
territory and were in field goal range, but poor clock management led to
time expiring with no field goal attempt coming.
