No. 7 Georgia 56, Florida Atlantic 20: Quarterback Aaron Murray passed for two touchdowns and rushed for two more as the host Bulldogs shook off a sluggish start with 35 unanswered points en route to a school-record 713 yards.
Georgia (3-0) found itself tied 14-14 three minutes into the second quarter before Murray took over. He scored on a 1-yard run with 6:29 left in the half and found Michael Bennett for a 67-yard touchdown pass with 1:34 to go as Georgia led 28-14 at halftime.
Murray, who scored on a 1-yard run for Georgia’s first score in the opening quarter, completed a 36-yard touchdown pass to Arthur Lynch with 12:40 left in the third quarter. The junior finished 14 of 19 passing for a career-best 342 yards.
The Owls (1-2) stayed close into the second quarter. Damian Fortner broke free for a 43-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7-7 with 2:30 left in the first quarter. Quarterback Graham Wilbert hit Nexon Dorvilus on a 2-yard touchdown pass with 12:19 left before halftime as the Owls pulled even at 14-14.
Georgia freshmen Todd Gurley (111 yards) and Keith Marshall (104) each rushed for a touchdown.
