No. 19 Baylor 70, Louisiana-Monroe 7: Bryce Petty passed for 351 yards and four touchdowns as the host Bears scored another one-sided victory.
Antwan Goodley caught five passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns and Tevin Reese added six receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown for Baylor (3-0), which became the first team to score at least 60 points in its first three games since 1930. Lache Seastrunk led the ground attack with 156 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown.
Kolton Browning completed 17-of-41 passes for 219 yards and a touchdown for Louisiana-Monroe (2-2) but was intercepted twice, giving him six on the season. Browning was also the team’s leading rusher with 43 yards, while Rashon Ceaser finished with a team-high six receptions for 78 yards.
Baylor needed just 2 minutes 54 seconds of possession time to build a 35-0 first-quarter lead. Petty threw three touchdown passes in the opening quarter and Joe Williams (41 yards) and Terrell Burt (63) each returned interceptions for touchdowns.
Louisiana-Monroe was stopped on fourth down inside the red zone three times before Browning found Harley Scioneaux for a 9-yard touchdown pass on fourth down with 5:52 left in the second quarter. Petty answered with a 23-yard touchdown pass to Clay Fuller less than two minutes later to extend the lead to 49-7.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Bears have outscored their first three opponents by a combined score of 209-23. … Baylor is the first FBS team to score at least 70 points in back-to-back games since Ohio State in 1996. … The Bears have won nine consecutive games against the spread, the longest winning streak in the nation.
