No. 25 Texas Christian 37, No. 3 Oklahoma 33: Trevone Boykin accounted for 393 total yards and threw two touchdowns and Paul Dawson returned an interception for a TD as the Horned Frogs upset the visiting Sooners to remain unbeaten.
Boykin was 20-of-38 for 318 yards and B.J. Catalon scored twice for TCU (4-0, 1-0 Big 12), which overcame 14 penalties and three turnovers to secure its biggest victory since joining the Big 12 in 2012. Kolby Listenbee had five catches for 103 yards and Boykin rushed 22 times for 75 yards as the Horned Frogs snapped Oklahoma’s eight-game winning streak.
Samaje Perine had 25 carries for 87 yards and three touchdowns while Trevor Knight was 14-of-35 for 309 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions for Oklahoma (4-1, 1-1), which was driving with three minutes remaining before Perine was stuffed on fourth-and-1 at the TCU 22. Sterling Shepard added seven receptions for a career-high 215 yards and a score.
TCU scored on its first two possessions and led 14-0 midway through the first quarter before the Sooners answered with two quick scores, including Shepard’s 75-yard TD catch. The fast pace continued in the second quarter as Boykin tossed a 39-yard TD pass to Catalon, Perine scored on a 1-yard run and the teams exchanged field goals before entering the break tied at 24.
Oklahoma scored on its opening possession of the second half for the fifth time in as many games as Perine scored on a 7-yard run to give the Sooners their first lead. The Horned Frogs pulled even three minutes later when Boykin connected with Deante' Gray on a 29-yard TD pass, and TCU moved ahead early in the fourth quarter when Dawson returned an interception 41 yards for a score.
