Arizona State 51, Colorado 17: Taylor Kelly passed for 308 yards and a career-high five touchdown passes, including three to Marion Grice, and Rashad Ross had a 100-yard kickoff return as the visiting Sun Devils beat the Buffaloes to remain unbeaten in Pac-12 play.
Grice caught touchdown passes of 37, 16 and 20 yards and D.J. Foster and Richard Smith also had scoring receptions as Arizona State (5-1, 3-0) increased its lead in the Pac-12 South to a full game over Southern California.
Arizona State had a 20-7 second-quarter lead after Grice’s second touchdown reception but Colorado (1-5, 1-2) scored 10 points over the final 24 seconds of the half on a 20-yard pass from Jordan Webb to Nick Kasa and a 37-yard field goal by Will Oliver.
The field goal was set up on a lost fumble on a kickoff return by Arizona State’s Jamal Miles. Ross replaced Miles on the opening kickoff of the second half and returned it for a momentum-changing touchdown as the Sun Devils scored 31 consecutive points.
Kelly departed after throwing a 31-yard touchdown pass to Smith to make it 44-17 with 5:38 to play. Cameron Marshall added a 14-yard scoring run just over two minutes later.
