California 43, UCLA 17: Zach Maynard threw four touchdown passes and ran for another as the Golden Bears continued their homefield dominance of the Bruins.
Maynard threw two scoring passes to Keenan Allen as California (2-4, 1-2 Pac-12 North) erased an early 7-0 deficit with 23 straight points. Maynard was 25 of 30 passing for 295 yards and put the game away with a 1-yard touchdown run to give Cal a 36-17 lead midway through the fourth quarter.
C.J. Anderson scored on a 68-yard touchdown run for the Bears and finished with 151 yards on 21 carries. Allen had seven receptions, including touchdown grabs of 34 and 8 yards as the Bears beat UCLA (4-2, 1-2 Pac-12 South) in Berkeley for the seventh straight time.
UCLA picked off Maynard's first pass of the game and four plays later, Cassius Marsh scored on a 4-yard pass from Brett Hundley as the Bruins took a short-lived 7-0 lead. But UCLA turned the ball over six times, including four interceptions by the redshirt freshman quarterback.
Cal scored 31 points off the UCLA turnovers and held UCLA to 382 total yards, well below its season average of 558. UCLA began the game ranked fourth in the nation on offense. Johnathan Franklin rushed for 103 yards on 15 carries for the Bruins.
