Texas 56, Baylor 50: Joe Bergeron rushed for 117 yards and a career-high five touchdowns as the host Longhorns snapped a two-game losing streak.
Bergeron scored three of his touchdowns in the second quarter as Texas (5-2, 2-2 Big 12) turned a seven-point deficit into a 42-31 halftime lead to keep Baylor (3-3, 0-3) winless in conference play.
Mike Davis had a huge game with six catches for 148 yards and a touchdown and quarterback David Ash finished 19-of-31 for 274 yards as the Longhorns beat the Bears for the first time in three seasons.
Nick Florence threw for 352 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 69 yards and two scores for Baylor, which has been shredded for 175 points during its three-game losing streak.
The Bears got within 42-40 midway through the third quarter on the second of three field goals by Aaron Jones, but Davis hauled in a 67-yard pass to set up Bergeron's fifth TD with 6:31 left in the third for a 49-40 lead. Davis added a 15-yard touchdown on a screen pass with 12:16 left to widen the lead to 56-43.
Terrance Williams had 10 receptions for 183 yards and a touchdown for Baylor, which held a 28-21 lead early in the second quarter before Texas ripped off 21 unanswered points.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Williams had his fifth game with at least 131 yards receiving and became the fourth receiver in school history to eclipse 1,000 yards in a season. ... Bergeron, who rushed for four touchdowns in a loss to West Virginia on Oct. 6, has 14 rushing scores on the season. ... The Longhorns amassed more than 500 total yards against Baylor for the second straight season and have rolled up at least 400 yards in 19 of the last 20 meetings with the Bears.
