Toledo 29, No. 18 Cincinnati 23: Bernard Reedy returned a kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown and Jeremiah Detmer made five field goals as the host Rockets upset the No. 18 Bearcats.
Toledo (7-1) held a 19-13 edge in the third before Cincinnati fought back. Bearcats quarterback Munchie Legaux, who finished with 228 yards passing, one touchdown and two interceptions, connected with Damon Julian for a 25-yard touchdown strike that put Cincinnati (5-1) ahead 20-19 with 2:08 left in the third quarter.
Reedy returned the ensuing kickoff for a score to put the Rockets back on top for good. The Bearcats settled for a field goal in the fourth before Detmer punctuated a 15-play, 56-yard drive by hitting a 25-yarder with 42 seconds remaining to put it away.
Detmer connected on 42- and 43-yard field goals and safety Jermaine Robinson returned an interception 75 yards as the Rockets took a 13-0 lead 51 seconds into the second quarter.
Legaux scored on a 2-yard run before finding Julian to take the lead. Tony Miliano hit a 41-yarder to bring Cincinnati within three, but the Rockets converted three third downs on their last drive to seal the win.
