No. 11 Oregon State 21, Utah 7: Storm Woods rushed for three touchdowns and the defense forced a key turnover early in the second half as host Oregon State is 6-0 for the first time since 1907.
The Beavers (6-0, 4-0 Pac-12) amassed a season-low 226 total yards, but took advantage of good field position following two turnovers to build a 14-0 first-half lead. Woods finished with 46 rushing yards on 17 carries.
Oregon State quarterback Cody Vaz, in his second start since replacing injured Sean Mannion, completed 16 of 26 passes for 174 yards. Markus Wheaton led the Beavers with seven receptions for 90 yards.
In his second career start, Utah freshman quarterback Travis Wilson completed 15 of 27 passes for 172 yards and a second-quarter touchdown that cut the deficit to 14-7. The Utes drove inside the Oregon State 10-yard line on their first drive of the second half, but Oregon State defensive end Scott Crichton, who came into the game No. 4 in the nation in sacks with eight, recovered a fumble.
Woods’ final touchdown run from 2 yards capped a 67-yard drive and increased Oregon State’s lead to 21-7 with 7:41 left.
