The Roadrunners fumbled inside the Tulane 2-yard line on their first drive and the Green Wave coughed it up inside the UTSA 5 early in the second quarter. The Roadrunners fumbled again before Tulane capitalized with a seven-play drive, capped by Darkwa’s 9-yard run on a draw with one minute left in the first half for a 7-0 lead.
On the first play after a missed field goal by Tulane in the third quarter, Armstrong ran over left tackle and busted loose for his long touchdown run with 5:13 left in the quarter to tie the game at 7-7. The Green Wave moved the ball to the UTSA 32 with under four minutes left in the game, but two straight false start penalties stalled the drive.
