Auburn 51, Alabama A&M 7: Sophomore Tre Mason rushed for a career-high 181 yards and two touchdowns, including an 86-yard jaunt, as the Tigers rolled over the visiting Bulldogs in their home finale.
Onterio McCalebb added 104 yards rushing and a pair of scores for the Tigers, who improved to 80-27-6 in their final home game of the season. Auburn rolled up 341 yards on the ground and freshman quarterback Jonathan Wallace passed for 171 yards and a score against the Bulldogs (7-4), who were playing their first SEC team.
Auburn scored touchdowns on its first five possessions, starting on Mason’s 19-yard run with 10:41 left in the first quarter. McCalebb matched Mason with a 19-yard touchdown gallop with 4:31 remaining and Mason’s 86-yard run gave the Tigers a 21-0 lead after one quarter.
Jay Prosch ran 3 yards for a score in the second quarter and Wallace connected with Sammie Coates for a 9-yard touchdown with 23 seconds left in the half for a 35-0 advantage. It was the second career touchdown for both Prosch and Coates.
Deaunte Mason’s 1-yard run in the third quarter gave the Bulldogs their lone touchdown. Mason passed for 186 yards and an interception, which was returned 60 yards for a score by Trent Fisher in the fourth quarter.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Alabama A&M’s all-time leading rusher Kaderius Lacey finished with 41 yards on 12 carries. Lacey finished the season with 932 yards. … Auburn has won 77 consecutive games when it has scored 30 or more points. … Tigers receiver Emory Blake had two catches for 20 yards, leaving him 34 yards short of 2,000 in his career going into next Saturday’s game at Alabama.
