No. 19 Louisiana State 34, No. 10 Texas A&M 10: Terrence Magee rushed for a career-high 149 yards and a touchdown and the host Tigers frustrated Johnny Manziel and grounded the Aggies' prolific offense.
Zach Mettenberger and Jarvis Landry hooked up for a pair of touchdowns for Louisiana State (8-3, 4-3 SEC), which improved to 23-1 following a loss during Les Miles' nine-year tenure. The Tigers' defense was tremendous, holding the Aggies to season lows for total yards (299) and points.
Manziel struggled, going 16-for-41 for 224 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions as the Aggies saw the end of their streaks of 13 consecutive games scoring 40 or more points and nine straight topping 500 total yards. Derel Walker caught six passes for 130 yards and the only touchdown for Texas A&M (8-3, 4-3), which had won 10 straight away from home.
Magee accounted for every yard of a five-play, 71-yard drive to open the scoring, busting a 65-yard run to the 1 and punching it in himself from there. Mettenberger hit Landry for TDs of 10 and 40 yards in the second quarter as the Tigers took a 21-10 halftime lead.
LSU poured it on in the second half, scoring on its first three possessions as Colby Delahoussaye booted field goals of 21 and 36 yards and Kenny Hilliard capped a 61-yard drive with a 2-yard TD run. The defense took it from there, shutting out the Aggies after the break and intercepting Manziel twice, including Craig Loston's pick on the goal line to effectively seal the win.
GAME NOTEBOOK: LSU WR/KR Odell Beckham Jr. surpassed Domanick Davis' single-season school record for all-purpose yards. … Beckham and Landry are the first wide receiver duo in LSU history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in the same season. … The loss snapped a 15-game personal winning streak away from home for Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin, who had not lost a road or neutral game since his time at Houston.
