Miami (Fla.) 41, Pittsburgh 31: Stacy Coley caught a pair of touchdowns and ran for another as the visiting Hurricanes defeated the Panthers in an Atlantic Coast Conference game.
Coley snared touchdowns of 32 and 34 yards from Stephen Morris in the first 3:30 of the game, and later ran for a 73-yard touchdown for the Hurricanes (9-3, 5-3), who kept alive their hopes for a berth in the ACC title game. Morris, who also threw a touchdown to Asante Cleveland, finished 17-of-28 for 296 yards and now has 7,736 career passing yards, which moves him past Heisman Trophy winner Gino Torretta for third place on the school's all-time list.
Isaac Bennett scored on a 45-run in the first quarter and finished with 141 yards on 21 carries for the Panthers (6-6, 3-5). Tom Savage was 24-of-43 for 281 yards and two touchdowns, and also ran for a touchdown.
The game didn't start well for the Panthers, who went down 14-0 after fumbling the opening kickoff and having a blocked punt go for just 9 yards. Bennett answered with his touchdown, but the Hurricanes scored 17 of the next 20 points to go into halftime leading 31-10.
Savage capped a 10-play drive with a 7-yard touchdown run to cut the deficit to 31-17, but Matt Goudis answered with his second field goal of the game to push it to 34-17. Savage then sandwiched touchdowns passes to Rachid Ibrahim and Tyler Boyd around Cleveland's 5-yard touchdown grab to complete the scoring.
