Arizona State 62, Navy 28: Taylor Kelly threw for four touchdowns and rushed for another to lead a record-setting offensive outburst for the Sun Devils at the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco.
Arizona State (8-5) set records for the event in several categories, including points, and established a school standard for scoring in a bowl game. Marion Grice had 159 of the Sun Devils' 380 rushing yards and three of Kelly's scoring passes went to Rashad Ross, including one of 52 yards before halftime and another just after it for 50.
Keenan Reynolds threw for a touchdown and Gee Gee Greene had 112 yards rushing and a 95-yard kickoff return for a score for the Midshipmen (8-5), who were outgained 648-350. Chris Swain and Brandon Turner added late touchdowns.
Arizona State led 14-0 before Navy produced a first down as Kelly hit Ross for a 16-yard score and Grice ran one in in from 10 yards out less than seven minutes in. Kelly's 1-yard touchdown run with eight seconds left in the first quarter made it 21-0.
The Midshipmen got back in it when Reynolds found Matt Aiken for a 3-yard touchdown early in the second, but the Sun Devils scored the next 27 points. Reynolds' interception on the second play of second half led to Ross's 50-yard touchdown and a 41-7 advantage. Arizona State, which led 62-14 with more than 18 minutes remaining, never punted.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Cameron Marshall had a 1-yard touchdown run to make it 48-7 midway through the third and scored on a 33-yard run less than three minutes later for the 62-14 advantage. ...
