No. 15 LSU 31, Arkansas 27: Freshman backup quarterback Anthony Jennings hit Travin Dural on a game-winning 49-yard touchdown pass with 1:15 to play as the Tigers rallied late to defeat the visiting Razorbacks.
Jennings was forced into duty after Zach Mettenberger injured his left knee in the fourth quarter, and was 14-for-22 with 156 yards and an interception prior to being hurt. Jeremy Hill ran for 145 yards and a touchdown, while Terrence Magee added 58 yards and two scores for LSU (9-3, 5-3).
Brandon Allen was 19-for-29 through the air for 178 yards and two scores for Arkansas, which lost its ninth straight game (3-9, 0-8). Jonathan Williams led the Razorbacks in rushing with 58 yards on 13 carries.
Arkansas led 27-24 when a Sam Irwin-Hill punt pinned the Tigers inside their own 1-yard line with 3:04 to play. Jennings, who had thrown three collegiate passes prior to the drive, found a wide-open Dural down the sideline for the game-winning score.
The Razorbacks scored with just under a minute to play in the third quarter when Allen found Hunter Henry alone in the corner of the end zone for a 2-yard touchdown that put Arkansas ahead 27-21. Mettenberger drove the Tigers deep into Arkansas territory before getting hurt on a long completion to Jarvis Landry, but the drive stalled without him, and LSU had to settle for a field goal that made it 27-24 with 4:56 on the clock.
GAME NOTEBOOK: LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. left the game during the first half with back soreness and did not return. … Mettenberger left the field on crutches. … Arkansas suffered its first winless conference season since joining the SEC.
