Baylor 49, No. 19 UCLA 26: Glasco Martin rushed for three touchdowns and Nick Florence passed for two and rushed for one as the Bears routed the Bruins in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego.
Lache Seastrunk rushed for 138 yards and one touchdown as Baylor (8-5) scored the first 21 points and finished the season with a four-game winning streak. Brett Hundley threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns for UCLA (9-5), which lost its third straight contest.
Martin scored on a 4-yard run with 8:01 left in the first quarter and Florence followed with an 8-yard scoring aerial to Antwan Goodley later in the stanza. Florence hit Tevin Reese on a 55-yard scoring play to make it 21-0 with 11:08 left in the half.
The Bruins got on the board on Hundley’s 22-yard scoring pass to Joseph Fauria with 6:21 remaining in the half. Martin dashed 26 yards for a touchdown with 4:36 left and Seastrunk broke into the clear on a 43-yard jaunt to make it 35-7 with 1:58 to go.
Two field goals by Ka’imi Fairbairn moved UCLA within 35-13, but Martin scored from 1 yard out to boost the lead to 29 with 1:52 remaining in the third quarter. After Hundley threw a 24-yard fourth-quarter touchdown to Shaquelle Evans, Florence dove in from the 1 to make it 49-19 with 7:46 to go.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Florence finished the season with 4,309 passing yards, surpassing the school mark of 4,293 set last season by Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III. … Bruins RB Johnathan Franklin rushed for only 34 yards on 14 carries. Franklin finished with a single-season, school-record 1,734 yards. … Baylor rolled up 306 yards on the ground and had 494 overall. UCLA managed only 33 rushing yards and went 1-of-17 on third-down conversions while totaling 362 yards.
