Tucker Carter threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another while David Glasco II added a 2-yard scoring run for UTSA (4-8, 3-5 Conference USA), which erupted for its most points in a contest since dropping a 41-37 decision to Florida Atlantic on Sept. 27. Andrew McNulty (24-of-43, 287 yards) threw for a touchdown and rushed for another for North Texas (4-8, 2-6), which went winless in six road games this season. Carlos Harris reeled in 10 receptions for 131 yards, Jeffery Wilson rushed for 105 and Trevor Moore drilled four field goals in the first half.
With the teams tied at 27-27 in the fourth quarter, Carter completed a 30-yard pass to Cole Hubble to bring UTSA to the North Texas 21. Armstrong accepted the pitch off the option on the next play and scampered down the sideline to give the Roadrunners the lead with 4:18 remaining.
Glasco's 47-yard run put UTSA in prime position before he punched it in from 2 yards out to give his team a 20-9 advantage with 5:21 remaining in the second quarter. Carter found Kenny Bias for a 39-yard scoring strike early in the third to increase the cushion to 27-12, but McNulty found tight end Marcus Smith to cap the ensuing 11-play drive before rushing for a 1-yard score and completing the 2-point conversion to forge a 27-27 tie early in the fourth.
