Junior quarterback Kenny Hill passed for 452 yards and two touchdowns as TCU registered a 33-3 victory over host SMU in a nonconference game at Dallas.
Junior receiver John Diarse had six catches for 139 yards and one touchdown for the Horned Frogs (3-1). Junior running back Kyle Hicks rushed for 89 yards and sophomore outside linebacker Ty Summers racked up 13 tackles as TCU defeated the Mustangs for the 15th time in the past 17 meetings.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Ben Hicks was 19-of-35 passing for 244 yards and two interceptions for SMU (2-2). Sophomore receiver Courland Sutton caught five passes for 113 yards for the Mustangs, who were outgained 589-320.
The Horned Frogs led by three points at halftime before beginning to create separation on Hill's two third-quarter touchdown throws.
Hill connected with Diarse on a 75-yard scoring pass on the first play from scrimmage in the third quarter. Diarse caught the ball on a quick slant before shedding the tackle attempt of SMU redshirt freshman safety Kevin Johnson to get free in the secondary. He completed the long score to give TCU a 13-3 advantage.
Hill threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to sophomore receiver Jaelan Austin with 7:17 remaining in the third quarter to increase the margin to 17. Junior Brandon Hatfield kicked field goals of 25 and 30 yards to boost the lead to 26-3.
Junior running back Trevorris Johnson capped the strong second-half run with a 14-yard touchdown run to make it a 30-point margin with 4:47 remaining.
TCU led 6-3 at halftime on field goals of 46 and 20 yards by redshirt freshman Ryan Graf, the latter coming with 2:29 left before the break. Sophomore Josh Williams booted a 23-yard field goal for the Mustangs.
