Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes and the Green Bay Packers held on to defeat the sputtering Philadelphia Eagles 30-16 on Sunday in Green Bay, Wis.
Aaron Jones gained 130 yards on 15 carries, including a 77-yard touchdown run with 2:36 to play to help clinch the outcome. Davante Adams, who had a 9-yard touchdown reception for the only points of the third quarter to make it a three-possession game, finished with 10 catches for 121 yards for the Packers (9-3).
The Eagles (3-8-1), who lost their fourth game in a row, scored only three points in the game's first 52 minutes but found themselves with a fighting chance after scoring two touchdowns in an 82-second span in the fourth quarter.
Jalen Hurts replaced Carson Wentz at quarterback on the Eagles' second possession of the second half, then gave his club a spark after Mason Crosby's 40-yard field goal for the Packers made it 23-3.
Philadelphia scored on Hurts' 32-yard pass play to Greg Ward on the ensuing drive with 7:52 remaining. Then Jalen Reagor muffed a punt but picked up the ball and raced 73 yards for another touchdown with 6:30 to play.
But Jake Elliott's extra-point was no good, leaving the score 23-16.
The Packers then gave the ball back after a three-and-out, but the Eagles managed one first down before punting the ball back.
That was critical because on Green Bay's second snap of the possession, Jones burst 77 yards for the touchdown that put the game out of reach.
Rodgers finished 25-for-34 for 295 yards and did not throw an interception.
Hurts went 5-for-12 for 109 yards with the touchdown and an interception, while Wentz was 6-for-15 for 79 yards. The Packers recorded seven sacks.
The Eagles scored first on Elliott's 52-yard field goal for the only points for either team in the first quarter. The Eagles punted to conclude their next four full possessions.
Meanwhile, Green Bay went ahead for the first time on Rodgers' 1-yard pass to Adams in the second quarter. The lead grew to 14-3 by halftime after Rodgers' 25-yard pass play to Robert Tonyan in the half's final minute.
