Colts 41, Titans 17: Andrew Luck threw four touchdown passes for the second straight game as host Indianapolis cruised past Tennessee.
Luck was 29-of-41 for 393 yards, one week after throwing for 370 yards and four scores in a lopsided victory over Jacksonville. Reggie Wayne had seven catches for 119 yards and a touchdown while T.Y. Hilton contributed six receptions for 105 yards for the Colts (2-2).
Playing in place of Jake Locker (wrist), Charlie Whitehurst was 12-of-23 for 177 yards with one touchdown and one interception for Tennessee.. Whitehurst led the Titans (1-3) with 40 rushing yards while tight end Delanie Walker contributed 84 receiving yards and a score.
Following a fumble by Titans receiver Kendall Wright, the Colts took an early 7-0 lead as Trent Richardson plunged in from 1 yard out before Indianapolis perfectly executed a surprise onside kick - which led to Luck's 7-yard TD strike to tight end Dwayne Allen. Whitehurst was intercepted on the second play of the second quarter and the Colts capitalized on Adam Vinatieri's 31-yard kick to make it 17-0.
Tennessee closed within 20-10 at halftime on Whitehurst's 7-yard TD strike to Walker with 13 seconds left in the second quarter, but Indianapolis regained control on Luck's 28-yard TD pass to Wayne midway through the third. Luck tacked on a 2-yard TD pass to tight end Coby Fleener and a 15-yard scoring strike to Ahmad Bradshaw in winning for the 11th time in the last 12 meetings between the teams.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Wayne passed Isaac Bruce (1,024) for seventh on the NFL's all-time receptions list and Henry Ellard (13,777) for 10th all-time in receiving yards. ... Richardson carried 20 times for 47 yards while Bradshaw contributed 32 yards on nine carries. Richardson also had four catches for 52 yards. ...
