JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Oakland Raiders continue to prove they have no problem when traveling to the East Coast this season.
Even their defense came with them this time.
The Raiders' offense was efficient and its league-worst defense stifled the sputtering Jacksonville Jaguars during a 33-16 victory on Sunday at EverBank Field.
Oakland (5-2) is now 4-0 on the road this season -- the last time they accomplished that came when the franchise advanced to the AFC Championship Game in 2000. The team has won at New Orleans, at Tennessee, at Baltimore and now Jacksonville.
Raiders quarterback Derek Carr outplayed counterpart Blake Bortles in a game that featured plenty of boos from a Jacksonville fan base that hasn't had much to cheer for this season.
Bortles was 23-of-43 passing for 246 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions while going against a defense that looked significantly better than a unit that came in to the game last in passing yards allowed (312.7 per game) and total yards (444.8 per game).
The Jaguars entered the red zone three times in the first half but came away with just six points. Their lone touchdown came on a pass from Bortles to tight end Julius Thomas in the fourth quarter with the Raiders holding a comfortable lead. Bortles was intercepted by cornerback David Amerson in the first quarter during his team's first trip to the red zone.
The Raiders took control of the game just before halftime when Carr found receiver Michael Crabtree for a 2-yard touchdown on a quick in-cutting route while working against cornerback Prince Amukamara.
It was Crabtree's 56-yard reception on third down three plays before that set up the score, which gave the Raiders a 20-6 lead. With most of Jacksonville's defensive attention focused on stopping second-year receiver Amari Cooper, Carr looked toward Crabtree throughout the first half.
Crabtree had eight catches for 96 yards and a touchdown, while Cooper totaled four receptions for 29 yards. Carr finished 23-of-37 passing for 200 yards with a touchdown and no turnovers.
Oakland also pounded out an 11-play drive that saw Carr throw just twice in the second quarter and was capped by a 2-yard touchdown plunge by Latavius Murray to go up 13-3 with 5:32 remaining in the second quarter.
Oakland held Jacksonville to just 151 yards of offense and six points in the first half.
The Jaguars (2-4) lost for the third time at home this season with an ugly performance that was highlighted by defensive tackle Malik Jackson getting ejected during the fourth quarter after being flagged twice for verbally abusing officials. Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey and Oakland receiver Johnny Holton were ejected for fighting in the fourth quarter.
Kicker Sebastian Janikowski made four field goals, including a long from 52 yards.
