Last Meeting ( Sep 14, 2014 ) Arizona 25, N.Y. Giants 14

The New York Giants' season went off the rails in a hurry, as losses in their first five games coupled with injuries to key personnel and ultimately a botched benching of Eli Manning had "Big Blue" singing the blues. Manning is back under center and looks to build off a season-best performance when the Giants visit the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

"I knew I could still throw it and I can play at a high level and run this offense," Manning told Newsday after throwing for a season-high 434 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The 36-year-old has attempted 103 passes over the last two weeks since being benched in favor of Geno Smith, but he'll need to keep a keen eye on an Arizona pass rush that features NFL sack leader Chandler Jones. The 27-year-old Jones, who expects to be more than a handful against Giants left tackle Ereck Flowers, has 15 sacks to reside 1 1/2 shy of the franchise record set by Simeon Rice in 1999 and an league-best 25 tackles for a loss. Arizona's offense has been sacked of late, as the team has gone 10 consecutive quarters without a touchdown and was officially eliminated from playoff contention following Sunday's 20-15 loss at Washington.

ABOUT THE GIANTS (2-12): Safety Landon Collins was selected to the Pro Bowl for the second straight season after recording a team-leading 98 tackles to go along with two interceptions. That type of production also gives him a stronger voice, with Collins openly taking cornerback Eli Apple to task on "The Michael Kay Show" on ESPN for the cornerback's recent transgressions. "He has to grow up," Collins said. "Mentor and raising are two different things. Right now, I feel like we're doing one more than the other." Apple, the No. 10 overall pick of the 2016 draft, reportedly was fined for tweeting during a game and was ruled inactive for four straight before playing on 60 of 68 defensive snaps versus the Eagles.

ABOUT THE CARDINALS (6-8): Arizona's quarterback carousel will turn back to Drew Stanton, who replaced Blaine Gabbert after coach Bruce Arians said the former gives the team the best chance to win the final two games. Stanton, who initially relinquished starting duties after sustaining a sprained right knee, likely will look to feed 34-year-old Larry Fitzgerald - who is eight receptions and 18 yards shy of becoming oldest player to have 100 catches and 1,000 yards receiving in single season. Fitzgerald, who has seen double-digit targets in eight of 14 games this season, joined Jones, cornerback Patrick Peterson and special teams player Budda Baker in being named to the Pro Bowl.

EXTRA POINTS

1. New York's Evan Engram's 63 receptions rank fifth among tight ends in the NFL and first among rookies.

2. Speaking of rookie tight ends, Ricky Seals-Jones has three touchdowns in his past five games for Arizona.

3. The Cardinals are allowing 49 sacks, which is second most behind Indianapolis (53).

PREDICTION: Cardinals 19, Giants 14
