St. Louis Blues vs Anaheim Ducks Match Player Stats On Mar 01, 2021

Dakota Joshua scored a goal in his NHL debut, 13 seconds after Zach Sanford scored as the St. Louis Blues took charge in the second period Monday and held on for a 5-4 victory against the host Anaheim Ducks.

David Perron also scored in a three-goal middle period for the Blues, who have won back-to-back road games after a three-game home losing streak.

Isac Lundestrom delivered his first career hat trick for the Ducks, scoring twice in the third period as Anaheim saw its losing streak reach seven games (0-5-2). The Ducks, who last won on Feb. 11, are 3-9-3 going back to a loss at Arizona on Jan. 28.

Lundestrom gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead 5:04 into the game after he fired a shot from the left side that rebounded off the far post and into the goal.

The Blues shifted momentum when Jordan Kyrou scored his eighth of the season 57 seconds before the first intermission off a pass from Ryan O'Reilly.

The second period was all Blues.

Perron gave St. Louis the lead for good at the 6:35 mark, scoring his seventh of the season over the head of sprawling Ducks goalie John Gibson.

The Blues took control in lightning quick fashion, getting a deflection from Stanford into the goal off a shot from Vince Dunn on a power play at 12:45 for a 3-1 lead.

Shortly off the ensuing faceoff, Joshua scored for a 4-1 advantage. Kyle Clifford's shot deflected off Gibson's stick, went off the right thigh of a charging Joshua and into the goal.

Lundestrom tried to get the Ducks back in the game, scoring on a wraparound just 34 seconds into the third period before getting his third of the game and fifth of the season with 4:46 remaining. That pulled Anaheim within 4-3.

Sanford scored his second of the game and sixth of the season short-handed and into an empty net with 1:20 remaining for a 5-3 lead.

The Ducks' Ryan Getzlaf scored with a minute to play, his second of the campaign.

Blues goaltender Ville Husso had 29 saves in the victory while Gibson stopped 30 saves on 34 shots.
