Vegas Golden Knights vs Minnesota Wild Match Player Stats On May 22, 2021

Marc-Andre Fleury posted his 16th career playoff shutout as the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Minnesota Wild 4-0 in Game 4 of their first-round series Saturday night in St. Paul, Minn.

Fleury moved into a tie for third place on the NHL's all-time playoffs shutouts list.

Vegas took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 series between the West Division rivals.

Nicolas Roy scored twice for Vegas, including an empty-netter with 1:28 remaining, while Alex Tuch and Mark Stone also tallied.

Fleury made 35 saves. With the shutout, Fleury moved into a tie for third with Curtis Joseph. The only goaltenders with more playoff shutouts are Martin Brodeur (24) and Patrick Roy (23).

Cam Talbot stopped 14 of 17 shots for the Wild, who have been outscored 9-0 since the start of the second period of Game 3.

Roy opened the scoring at 10:37 of the first period. Following a scramble in front of the Vegas net, Roy tracked down the puck in the corner and skated it out of the defensive zone before a quick give-and-go along the right wing boards to Keegan Kolesar at center ice. Roy got the puck back just before crossing the blue line and beat Talbot with a wrister from just inside the top of the right faceoff circle.

The Wild appeared to tie the score just 19 seconds later on Joel Eriksson Ek's shot from the top of the left faceoff circle past a screened Fleury. But a video review determined Minnesota's Marcus Foligno had interfered with the goaltender and the tally was waved off.

Tuch made it 2-0 at 9:08 of the second. Teammate Chandler Stephenson chipped the puck forward from near center ice and Tuch skated onto it just outside the blue line. He split two defenders, went in alone on Talbot and lifted the puck over the sprawling goaltender.

Stone extended the lead to 3-0 with an unassisted short-handed goal at 13:41 of the second. Stone stole the puck after Minnesota's Matt Dumba fell down in the offensive zone and skated down the right wing from his own blue line before deking Talbot and jamming the puck into the net before knocking it off its moorings.
