The Detroit Red Wings began the 2019-20 season with a bit of promise, riding a 5-3 victory in Nashville to wins in three of four contests before the bottom fell out with losses in 10 of their next 11 contests (1-9-1). The Red Wings look to bounce back from a pair of four-goal setbacks when they host the Predators on Monday night.

"I don't think there's any doubt we've been fragile," Detroit coach Jeff Blashill told reporters. "We better dig in. We control our confidence. ... We're going to have to find a way to learn from this thing and regroup Monday and play a real game." They haven't done that of late, following up a 7-3 loss at Carolina on Friday by being shut out for the second time this season the following day in a 4-0 setback versus Florida. Offense hasn't been much of a problem for the Music City representatives, who reside second in the NHL in goals (3.86 per game) entering Sunday's play despite being limited to Viktor Arvidsson's second-period tally in a 2-1 loss to the New York Rangers on Saturday. "We have a good record, and we had a pretty good homestand. We have to go on the road here and get after it," said the 26-year-old Swede, who also scored in the first game versus the Red Wings.

ABOUT THE PREDATORS (8-4-2): Filip Forsberg, who also scored in last month's meeting with Detroit, admitted to feeling at ease after he was reunited with Arvidsson and Ryan Johansen in his second contest back from a six-game absence due to a lower-body injury. "It was good. Sometimes you need to switch things around, and I thought we were playing well," the 25-year-old Swede told reporters. "We got some chances, and obviously got a goal on the power play. We were trying to get the team back in it and unfortunately, we couldn't do it." Matt Duchene had two assists and Johansen had one in the first encounter with the Red Wings, however both have been held off the scoresheet in six of their last eight games.

ABOUT THE RED WINGS (4-10-1): Tyler Bertuzzi collected two goals and two assists in the first meeting with Nashville and has recorded at least a point in 10 of 15 games this season. The 24-year-old's eight assists are tied with Dylan Larkin for top honors on the team while his 14 points are matched by Anthony Mantha for the club lead. Mantha resides one point shy of 150 for his career, with his one-goal, two-assist performance in the season opener accounting for half of his total points against Nashville.

OVERTIME

1. Nashville G Pekka Rinne sports a 12-12-5 record with three shutouts, a 2.64 goals-against average and .919 save percentage in 29 career starts versus Detroit.

2. Red Wings C Luke Glendening has notched just one point since collecting a goal and an assist in the season opener against the Predators.

3. Nashville D Dan Hamhuis, who played in his 1,100th NHL game on Saturday, has yet to record a point this season.
