The Winnipeg Jets picked up a sweat-free 4-1 victory against Pittsburgh on Friday night, moving them to a remarkable 17-3 on the season.

The Central Division leaders will look to stay hot in Nashville, and My Jets vs. Predators predictions see the offenses taking center stage in a battle between two teams at opposite ends of the spectrum.

Let’s break things down further with my NHL picks for Saturday, November 23.

Jets vs Predators prediction

My Jets pick
Over 6 (-116 at Pinnacle)

My Jets analysis

The Winnipeg Jets have been as good as anybody offensively through the first quarter of the season. They’ve scored a league-leading 84 goals spanning just 20 games.

Star players like Kyle Connor, Mark Scheifele, and Josh Morrissey have piled up the points while getting plenty of support from players below them in the lineup. They have garnered elite results at even strength, sitting sixth in goals and owning a +13 goal differential in that game state.

The Jets are likely to cause real problems for the Nashville Predators, who sit in the bottom 10 in preventing goals and own a league-worst -23 goal differential at 5v5.

Winnipeg had also scored more power-play goals than any other team. Although Nashville’s penalty kill has performed well, the Predators have spent more time shorthanded than all but four teams.

The Jets should have ample opportunity to work on the man advantage. Based on their success thus far, that’s a recipe for goals.

The Predators should be able to contribute their fair share to the total as well. They’ve scored multiple goals in six of the past eight games and the offensive underlying metrics are trending in the right direction.

Superstar goaltender Connor Hellebuyck will also be getting the night off, making way for backup Eric Comrie. Hellebuyck is one of the NHL’s leaders in Goals Saved Above Expected, ranking sixth with a net of +7.7.

The Jets have played very high-scoring games with Comrie between the pipes, combining for 30 goals over his first four starts of the season (7.5 per). Expect an abundance of goals at Bridgestone Arena tonight.

Jets vs Predators Odds analysis

The Nashville Predators opened as -119 favorites and are now trading at -124, likely a reflection of Hellebuyck getting a night off against a rested team that’s been off since Wednesday night.

The Winnipeg Jets have enjoyed a lot of success against their Central Division rivals, winning six of the past nine head-to-head matchups.

Offense has tended to follow these two teams, with three of their last four meetings featuring six goals or more.
