Rogers Arena

Last Meeting ( Apr 4, 2019 ) Vancouver 2, Nashville 3

The Vancouver Canucks faced little resistance in unleashing their offense, riding high during a 9-1-2 stretch before mustering a total of five goals during their season-high four-game losing streak (0-3-1). The Canucks look to rebound from their first regulation setback at Rogers Arena when they continue their four-game homestand against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.

"When you are scoring you think you've got all the answers and you don't. There's not a magic recipe for scoring or you'd never get into a rut where you don't score," Vancouver coach Travis Green said following Sunday's 2-1 loss to New Jersey. Brock Boeser scored a power-play goal in the second period to match J.T. Miller with a team-leading eight goals for the Canucks, who fell to 4-1-2 at home this season. Nashville began its four-game road trip with such promise, as it scored six goals for the third time this season in a romp over Detroit before yielding nine in a rout by Colorado and falling in seven rounds of a shootout to San Jose on Saturday. "Obviously we didn't show up that game (against the Avalanche) and we knew we were going to be better and we were, but at the same time should've won the game," Predators forward Filip Forsberg said.

TV: 10 p.m. ET, FS Tennessee (Nashville), Sportsnet Pacific (Vancouver)

ABOUT THE PREDATORS (9-5-3): Forsberg extended his point streak to four games (three goals, two assists) by scoring a power-play goal in the second period of the 2-1 shootout loss to the Sharks. The 25-year-old Swede, who shares the team lead in goals (eight) with fellow center Nick Bonino, has recorded at least a point in all but one game this season. Forsberg has flustered the Canucks in his career, collecting 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 14 encounters.

ABOUT THE CANUCKS (9-6-3): Tanner Pearson is mired in a 14-game goal drought, and it's taking its toll. "When frustration creeps into my game, it usually doesn't go so well, so I’m trying to stay positive," the 27-year-old Pearson said, per Sportsnet. "But it's starting to get to that point. I’m here to help the team win ... and I'm not carrying my weight right now. I'm trying not to get frustrated but, at the same time, there's a tipping point for everything." Josh Leivo has one goal in 15 games and captain Bo Horvat is mired in a six-game goalless drought.

OVERTIME

1. Nashville C Ryan Johansen scored the go-ahead goal with 21 seconds left in his last meeting with Vancouver, marking just his second tally in 23 career encounters with the Canucks.

2. Vancouver C Elias Pettersson, who leads the team in assists (15) and points (21), scored a goal and set up two others versus Nashville last season.

3. Predators C Matt Duchene has three goals in his last three games after being held without one in his previous eight.

PREDICTION: Canucks 3, Predators 2
