Last Meeting ( Oct 27, 2019 ) Philadelphia 3, NY Islanders 5
The New York Islanders take a 13-game point streak (12-0-1) into their Metropolitan Division battle with the host Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday. New York boasts seven players with at least 10 points after Anthony Beauvillier scored twice and Derick Brassard added a goal and two assists in a 5-4 victory over Toronto on Wednesday.
"With guys getting healthy, it gives us internal motivation because everybody is trying to stay in the lineup,” Islanders coach Barry Trotz told reporters. “We are starting to get healthy now and everyone is trying to get a piece of the pie because there are only so many pieces to go around.” New York's Mathew Barzal contributed a goal and assist Wednesday and leads the club with eight goals and 16 points. Philadelphia lost 2-1 at Ottawa on Friday and failed to get a point for the first time in eight games (5-1-2). The Islanders won the first of four meetings this season 5-3 on Oct. 27 as part of a 10-game winning streak behind a goal from Barzal and 28 saves by Semyon Varlamov.

ABOUT THE ISLANDERS (13-3-1): Josh Bailey (six goals, 13 points) left practice Thursday (soreness) but should be in Saturday's lineup, according to Trotz. Brassard has six goals after totaling 14 with Florida, Colorado and Pittsburgh last season, and is on pace to eclipse the career-high 27 he scored with the New York Rangers in 2015-16.
ABOUT THE FLYERS (10-6-3): Travis Konecny (team-high 19 points) and Oskar Lindblom (15) pace the club with eight goals apiece and have each scored twice in eight November games. Claude Giroux, Jakub Voracek (199 career goals) and Sean Couturier have 13 points apiece with Giroux and Couturier each scoring three goals this month. Brian Elliott (4-2-1, 2.88 goals-against average, .909 save percentage) will likely be in goal after Carter Hart made 17 saves Friday.
