The Philadelphia Flyers are licking their wounds after a disastrous three-game road trip in which they were battered by both injury and opponents while being outscored 14-5 on the scoreboard. The Flyers hope a return home is just what the doctor ordered on Tuesday when they host the Anaheim Ducks.

"It's a part of hockey," Philadelphia coach Alain Vigneault said of the mounting injuries. "These situations throughout an 82-game schedule are going to happen. What you need is your top players to lead and to play the right way." While Vigneault didn't name names, it should be noted that captain Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek each have just two points during the last five games (1-4-0) for the Flyers. Anaheim captain Ryan Getzlaf, in turn, has recorded 13 (three goals, 10 assists) of his team-leading 25 points in his last 13 games. Eight of those points in that run were recorded on the road for the Ducks, who open a four-game trek on Tuesday.

ABOUT THE DUCKS (14-15-4): Defenseman Hampus Lindholm scored a power-play goal with 1:46 remaining in the third period of Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the New York Rangers. The man-advantage tally was the second of the game for Anaheim and marked the third straight contest that the team had scored on the power play. "We're not going to have a parade yet on it," Ducks coach Dallas Eakins said. "I still think we've got lots of work to do there, but kudos to those young men. They've really taken a real interest in it, they're working together for their own solutions on top of ours and that's important, and great to see our team get rewarded by it (Saturday) because we certainly needed it."

ABOUT THE FLYERS (17-11-5): While Travis Konecny (concussion), Tyler Pitlick (concussion), Scott Laughton (groin) and Michael Raffl (finger) are nursing injuries, Joel Farabee will join them on the sideline after the rookie was suspended three games by the NHL on Monday for his hit on Mathieu Perreault. The incident led to a five-minute major power play, resulting in two quick power-play goals for Winnipeg that ultimately changed the game. "Almost a full second after the puck is gone, Farabee delivers a late, forceful hit to the vulnerable Perreault, knocking him to the ice and causing an injury," the NHL's explanatory video said. "This is interference. What causes this incident to rise to the level of supplemental discipline is the considerable lateness and force of a hit delivered to a vulnerable opponent. While we acknowledge Farabee's assertion that he attempts to hit Perreault in a legal fashion, he fails to do so under the interference rule."
