The Edmonton Oilers have earned points in each of the first four contests of their five-game homestand, but their chances of reaching the postseason still are evaporating. Edmonton attempts to keep alive its slim hopes when it hosts the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday.

The Oilers have gone 2-0-2 during their stretch at Rogers Place after squandering a two-goal lead and falling to Dallas 3-2 in a shootout on Thursday. Captain Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl each recorded a goal and an assist for Edmonton, which is eight points behind Colorado for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference with three teams between them and five games remaining. Anaheim is coming off a 6-1 setback in Calgary on Friday that dropped it to 1-1-1 on its four-game trek. Defenseman Andy Welinski provided the offense with his first career goal for the Ducks, who are wrapping up the road portion of their schedule on Saturday.

ABOUT THE DUCKS (32-37-10): Rickard Rakell was kept off the scoresheet on Friday, ending a three-game goal-scoring streak during which he netted four tallies. The 25-year-old Swede, who had gone six games without a goal prior to his run, has scored only 15 this season after recording at least 33 in each of his previous two campaigns. Adam Henrique is two scores away from reaching the 20-goal plateau for the fourth consecutive season and fifth time in his career.

ABOUT THE OILERS (34-34-9): Draisaitl's goal five minutes into Thursday's contest gave him 100 points on the season and he later added an assist to give him 10 points during a four-game streak. The 23-year-old German (101) and McDavid (114) are the first Edmonton teammates to hit the century mark in the same campaign since Jari Kurri (102) and Jimmy Carson (100) accomplished the feat in 1988-89. The 22-year-old McDavid has reached the 40-goal plateau in back-to-back campaigns, becoming the first Oiler to do so since Kurri posted seven consecutive 40-goal seasons from 1982-89.

OVERTIME

1. McDavid has collected four goals and five assists during his four-game point streak, tallying in each contest, and registered 11 multi-point performances over his last 13 games.

2. Anaheim RW Patrick Eaves, who has appeared in only nine contests over the last two seasons due to illness and injury, is the team's nominee for the Masterton Trophy.

3. Edmonton LW Milan Lucic has gone four games without a point, keeping him one shy of 500 for his career.
