The Vegas Golden Knights have three games to get their act together if they hope to have any chance at repeating as Western Conference playoff champions. Vegas looks to halt a franchise-worst five-game slide when it hosts the Edmonton Oilers on Monday.

The Golden Knights, who are locked in as the third seed in the Pacific Division, have gone 0-3-2 after winning four in a row and 10 of 11. Their latest setback was a 4-3 overtime loss in San Jose on Saturday in which William Karlsson scored his 24th goal to tie Jonathan Marchessault for the team lead. "We're going into the playoffs, it's time for us to step it up," Karlsson told reporters. "We're losing too much. Things haven't been going our way, but that's in the past. We have to look forward." Edmonton is coming off a 2-1-2 homestand that concluded Saturday with a 5-1 loss to Anaheim that all but ended its playoff chances as it trails Colorado by eight points for the second wild card in the West with four games remaining.

TV: 10 p.m. ET, Sportsnet One (Edmonton), AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain (Vegas)

ABOUT THE OILERS (34-35-9): Connor McDavid's goal-scoring streak ended at four games on Saturday as he was kept off the scoresheet for just the 10th time in 74 contests this season. The 22-year-old captain also recorded five assists during the scoring run and has notched 32 of his career-high 114 points over his last 18 games. Leon Draisaitl also had a point streak during which he collected four goals and six assists halted at four contests in the loss to the Ducks.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS (42-30-7): Karlsson also notched an assist against the Sharks, leaving him two shy of 100 for his career. The 26-year-old Swede has more than 20 fewer points than the career-high 78 he registered last season but trails Marchessault (57) by only two for first on the team. Cody Eakin scored his career-best 21st goal on Saturday and needs three to reach 100 in the NHL.

OVERTIME

1. Golden Knights D Colin Miller needs one point to hit the century mark in his career.

2. Oilers C Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is one assist away from eclipsing the career high of 37 he set in 2013-14.

3. Vegas C Paul Stastny was scratched on Saturday for an undisclosed reason and is questionable to face Edmonton.

PREDICTION: Golden Knights 5, Oilers 3
