The Arizona Coyotes have been superb at home of late, and they'll need to be again when they host the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday if they hope to remain alive in the playoff race. Arizona sits two points behind Colorado for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference with three games remaining.

The Coyotes are in the midst of a six-game home point streak (5-0-1) and have gone 10-1-1 in their last 12 at Gila River Arena after blanking Minnesota 4-0 on Sunday. Josh Archibald ended his 12-game point drought in a big way, recording two goals and an assist for his second three-point effort of the season - with the first also being a two-goal, one-assist performance against the Wild on Nov. 27. Arizona is looking to qualify for the postseason for the first time since 2011-12, when it won a pair of series before falling in the conference finals to Los Angeles. The Kings are coming off a 7-2 loss to West champion Calgary on Monday that ended their three-game home winning streak.

ABOUT THE KINGS (29-41-9): Captain Anze Kopitar celebrated appearing in his 1,000th NHL game on Monday by setting up a tally, giving him two goals and eight assists over his last nine contests. The 31-year-old Slovenian dropped to second on the team in goals behind Dustin Brown, who scored his 22nd in the loss to the Flames. The 34-year-old Brown has eclipsed the 20-goal plateau each of the last two seasons after recording 18 or fewer in each of his previous five campaigns.

ABOUT THE COYOTES (38-33-8): Darcy Kuemper was named the NHL's Third Star of the Week after going 2-0-1 with two shutouts, a 0.65 goals-against average and a .979 save percentage in three games. The 28-year-old netminder, who has made 20 consecutive starts, turned aside 95 of the 97 shots he faced and has gone 188 minutes, 14 seconds without allowing an even-strength goal. Alex Galchenyuk ended his six-game goal-scoring drought on Sunday and is two away from becoming the team's lone 20-goal scorer this season.

OVERTIME

1. Coyotes C Brad Richardson, who has scored just once in 15 games after registering a four-goal performance against Vancouver on Feb. 28, is two tallies away from 100 for his career.

2. Los Angeles D Drew Doughty notched an assist on Monday to end his six-game drought.

3. Arizona's Alex Goligoski is one assist shy of 300 in the NHL while fellow D Jason Demers needs two points to reach 200.
