The WNBA playoffs have arrived, and we have a good one on Sunday, September 22 when the New York Liberty and Atlanta Dream meet for Game 1 of their best-of-three series.

Atlanta clinched a playoff berth with an upset victory over New York at Barclays Center, but my Dream vs. Liberty predictions expect a completely different outcome in Game 1.

Read on for my WNBA picks!

Dream vs Liberty predictions

My best bet
Breanna Stewart Over 20.5 points (-120 at SIA)

My analysis
The New York Liberty head into the playoffs as the No. 1 seed and betting odds favorite to hoist the WNBA Championship Trophy.

Olympian Breanna Stewart has played a huge role in the Liberty’s success. The eight-year vet averages 20.4 points per night on 32 minutes, which would be higher against the Atlanta Dream if she played a consistent number of minutes.

For example, Stewie scored just 16 points across 16 minutes on 50% shooting in Thursday night’s tilt with ATL, but she scored 22+ against the Dream twice when she played 30+ minutes — and she’ll play 30+ on Sunday.

It’s Stewie time!

Tina Charles defends the paint better than anyone, but Stewart is a toughie because she drains 46% from inside and 29% from deep when she's on the floor. Stewie also knocks down 84.5% of her six attempts from the charity stripe, and when she gets the minutes, her total package has been too much for Atlanta to handle.

Atlanta can’t stop Stewart in the half-court set, and she and Sabrina Ionescu have a solid pick-and-roll game that also bothers Atlanta. I expect Stewart to take over this game from the jump and clear 21+ points.

Dream vs Liberty same-game parlay (SGP)

Breanna Stewart Over 20.5 points

Jonquel Jones Over 13.5 points

Alt Under 164.5

This game will be low scoring, and grabbing an extra 10 points is a beauty. The half-court set and all the attention on Stewart also means Atlanta may have difficulty with Jonquel Jones.

Jones seems to get more touches in the Liberty’s half-court set and she's scored 14 or more in three of her last seven. Jones also drains nearly 40% from downtown while pulling down 1.7 offensive rebounds per game.

The Dream plays tremendous defense and rely on their help defense to win games. They're very good at controlling the tempo, and the extra 10 points on the total should give us a 6:1 hit.
