Fever vs Liberty Predictions, Picks, Odds for Tonight’s WNBA Game

The Liberty have routinely been favored to win by double-digit points like they are tonight vs. the Fever, but they've failed to cover the spread each time. This includes an earlier win over Indiana. Expect Caitlin Clark & Co. to keep this close.

The Indiana Fever will look to build on their second win of the year as they visit the New York Liberty tonight.

See why my Sky vs. Fever predictions anticipate Indiana keeping it close enough as big-time underdogs despite playing the second night of a back-to-back after beating the Chicago Sky 71-70 at home on Saturday.

In addition to WNBA picks, I'll also offer a Caitlin Clark prop bet for Sunday, June 2.

Fever vs Liberty predictions

My best bet
Fever +14.5 (-110 at FanDuel)

My analysis

The New York Liberty are off to another hot start this season, as they look to go one step further than they did last season when they lost in the WNBA Finals to the Las Vegas Aces. New York hit a slight bump in the road last week with a brief two-game losing streak but has since won two in a row to get back on track.

New York has been the favorite in all eight of their games this year. However, the Liberty have only covered once, in a blowout the first time they played the Fever in Indiana. Perhaps more relevant to tonight’s game, the Liberty have been double-digit favorites six times, going 0-6 against the spread in those contests.

The Indiana Fever rate out as the worst defensive team in the league and are among the worst offensive squads. They’re also coming off a Saturday game in Indiana, meaning they’re not only playing a back-to-back but had to travel between those games.

But there’s been a clear improvement in Indiana’s play as the season has progressed and Caitlin Clark has settled into her role as the offensive facilitator for the team. The Fever have won two of their last five games, and even three of their last five losses have come by single digits.

Tonight’s game may well add to that total of close defeats. These teams are among the league's slower squads, which should limit opportunities for the Liberty to turn this into a blowout and limit the fatigue factor for the Fever. I’m taking Indiana to cover the spread tonight.

Caitlin Clark odds, prop for tonight

My best bet
Over 5.5 rebounds (-135 at DraftKings)

My analysis

Much has been made of Clark’s abilities as a scorer — a natural place to focus, given that she set the NCAA record for career points. We’ve also seen her distribute the ball well throughout her career, as she’s averaging 6.5 assists per game so far in her WNBA career.

But Clark can also rebound surprisingly well for a woman of her size. The 6-foot guard averages 5.4 rebounds per game, making her an all-around star even as she adjusts to the professional ranks.

Clark’s rebounding numbers might be even more impressive if it weren’t for two rough matchups against the Connecticut Sun, in which she totaled just three boards in 59 minutes of play. Outside of those contests, Clark is averaging 6.4 rebounds.

Looking at her matchups against New York, she managed to grab 13 rebounds in two games last month. That makes me very interested in her rebounding prop bet again tonight, as it has been set at just 5.5. I’m taking Clark to surpass that number again against the Liberty.

Fever vs Liberty same-game parlay (SGP)

Fever +14.5

Breanna Stewart Over 21.5 points

Caitlin Clark Over 5.5 rebounds

In addition to Fever covering and Clark cleaning glass, I'll add Breanna Stewart to lead the offensive charge for the Liberty. She's averaging 18.5 points on the season but the Fever are not a strong defensive team and she cleared this total in both games against Indiana last month.

Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
